- How long is the show?
The show takes 2 to 2,5 hours, including the intermission.
- Holiday on Ice… Is it ice-cold during the performance?
No, the temperature is regulated for your comfort, so that you will not feel any effect of the ice-floor.
- Am I allowed to take pictures during the show?
No, visitors are asked not to take pictures during the show. Camera flashes distract the skaters' concentration and could result in an injury.

Holiday on Ice employs skaters and artists from all over the world. It also gives the artists the opportunity to develop their skills and eventually become stars of the show.
- Is Holiday on Ice able to accommodate wheelchairs?
Yes, it is possible. Holiday on Ice does its utmost to provide special facilities to cater for audiences with special requirements. Please contact the venue box office to reserve a wheelchair position.
- How many Holiday on Ice shows are normally touring?
Usually, 3 to 4 shows are touring simultaneously through the year.
- How many skaters are performing with each Holiday on Ice show?
About 50 skaters appear in each show and another 25 people work backstage. This group represendts nationalities all over the world.
- When was Holiday on Ice founded?

Its very first performance was in 1943 in a hotel in Toledo (U.S.A.).
- Where does Holiday on Ice find its famous skaters?
After more than 60 years of presenting the world's greatest skaters, Holiday on Ice's directors and casting department know how to recognise great talents. Our audiences recognise them too; it's what they've come to expect from every Holiday on Ice show they have seen. Through the years, Holiday on Ice has invited great stars to appear in our shows. And remember, it takes much more than technical ability to become a great entertainer. World-class skaters and Olympic medallists are a regular feature of Holiday on Ice productions. Over the years, these have included such well-known names as Sjoukje Dijkstra, Katarina Witt, Surya Bonaly, Marina Anissina & Gwendal Peizerat, Nobert Schramm, Robin Cousins MBE and Philippe Candeloro.
- How many costumes have to be made for one show?
On average, 350 costumes have to be made for each Holiday on Ice production.
- How are the costumes and the stage etc. transported?
Each show is transported on 18 containers, which travels around the world by truck, train, or boat.
- How is it possible that Holiday on Ice gets the ice to every place in the world and at any temperature?
Holiday on Ice has its own travelling ice machines, which are able to produce an ice-floor in every location. The ice-floor can be fitted into any dimension depending on the size venue. We also rent ice-floors.
