Get your skates on! Holiday on Ice is winter's biggest treat

This year I was determined to be strong. When the invitation to Holiday on Ice arrived, I firmly put it aside.

My addiction to the annual ice-skating extravaganza has made me a laughing stock among my friends and an object of pity to my family. This year I would live without the delicious swoosh of skates on ice, the daring acrobatic lifts of the pair-skaters, the costumes that light up, and the fireworks that rain down from the roof.

 

And then, just as it has with cigarettes, my addiction got the better of me. It's only once a year, after all. Surely one little shot of the show couldn't do any serious harm? With that it was into the car and down to Brighton. Boy, I'm glad I went. Read more..
